Important Dates
Sept. 4. First possible day for election judge training
Sept. 19. Ballots go to overseas voters.
Sept. 19 First day county clerk may issue mail ballots.
Sept. 29 Last day for county to provide list of election judges
Oct. 2 First day that ballots may be mailed
Oct. 2 Last day for legislative staff to print and distribute ballot information booklet (Blue Book)
Oct. 9. Last day that ballots can be mailed.
Oct. 12. Drop boxes start accepting mail ballots
Oct. 13. Last day to submit and application to register to vote through av voter registration drive.
Oct. 19. Ballot counting may begin.
Oct. 19 Polling places must be open.
Oct. 26 Last day for an individual to submit a voter registration application and still receive a ballot in the mail.
Nov. 3 In person voting 7 am to 7 pm – Polls open.
Nov. 11 Last day that overseas ballots can be received.
Nov. 12 Last day for signature cures, missing ID or provisional ballot to be counted.
Nov. 13 (Friday) Finish voting tabulation.
Dec. 8 last day for recounts.

Judges:
Colorado Office of Judicial Performance Evaluation: View official surveys from lawyers, jurors, and citizens who worked with the judge. https://judicialperformance.colorado.gov/know-your-judges/2026-judicial-performance-evaluations Typically, most judges are recommended to be retained, however occasionally, you will find a judge that is not recommended.
State Ballot Information Booklet (Blue Book): Mailed to every registered voter by the Colorado Legislative Council before the election, containing summaries of the performance commissions’ findings for each judge on your local ballot.
County Clerk: Check your specific County Clerk and Recorder office to view sample ballots showing the exact local county and district judges up for retention in your area.
